StrataBase policies

Terms of Service

Effective: 2 November 2026 · Applies to the StrataBase web application.

These terms describe the conditions for access to and use of StrataBase, a private-access geotechnical field and data platform operated by its application administrator. Contact stratabase.dev@gmail.com about access or these terms. If your organisation has a separate written agreement covering use of the platform, that agreement may impose additional requirements.

1. Authorised users only

Use of StrataBase requires a valid sign-in and approved organisation membership. You must protect your login credentials and devices and notify the administrator promptly of suspected unauthorised access. Access may be restricted or withdrawn where necessary to protect the service or project information.

2. Your field and project records

Users and their organisations remain responsible for the rights, confidentiality, accuracy and lawful handling of project data submitted to StrataBase. Enter only information that you are authorised to process and share with the service and its configured providers. Use appropriate internal approval before storing employer, client or third-party information.

3. Professional responsibility

StrataBase is a data capture and management tool. It does not replace engineering or geological judgement, independent verification, professional review, site safety procedures, or any statutory sign-off requirement. Users must confirm recorded measurements, calculations and exports before relying on them in professional deliverables.

4. Availability and backups

StrataBase supports offline-first operation on previously prepared devices; offline capabilities depend on that device retaining its local storage. Cloud synchronisation and Google Drive archives depend on internet access, configuration, third-party providers and a valid authorisation. Users should maintain independent, verified backups and periodically test restoration. Do not assume a backup is complete solely because a request was initiated.

5. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to bypass organisation access controls, interfere with the service, upload unlawful material, misuse other users' accounts or disclose protected project data without authorisation.

6. Service changes and limits

Features, integrations, availability and access arrangements may be updated as the application develops. Where allowed by applicable law and governing agreements, the service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular engineering decision. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Privacy and contact

The Privacy Policy describes information processing and the third-party systems currently used. For questions, contact stratabase.dev@gmail.com.
